This month marks Coeliac Awareness Week in the UK – when the importance of offering gluten-free products to your customers comes under the spotlight.
It is thought that one in 100 people in the UK has coeliac disease. Only 36% of these people are diagnosed.
Our Tipiak French macarons and pop macarons fruits are gluten free. Accredited by the Association Française Des Intolérants Au Gluten – the French equivalent to Coeliac UK, they are perfect for afternoon tea, as an accompaniment to tea or coffee, or as part of a simple dessert.
“Recognising the growth in allergen-free requirements, and the importance of this sector, Tipiak invested in a dedicated unit to produce gluten-free macarons,” explains Marie-Emmanuelle Chessé, international development project manager at Tipiak, which supplies frozen, authentic French sweet and savoury pâtisserie to the hospitality sector in the UK.
“Macarons really are the darlings of pâtisserie currently, with more than 8 million Instagram posts alone. A whole new generation is discovering the delights of macarons with their smooth crisp shells and soft creamy fillings. Offering gluten-free options means that your coeliac customers don’t miss out on these little beauties. Very often it’s the free-from person in a party of guests who chooses where to eat so it’s important to ensure you have free-from options on your menu.”
Available to the UK foodservice sector via frozen food distributor Central Foods, Tipiak’s gluten-free macarons are packed full of flavour. They are made to a traditional recipe, giving your customers an authentic experience. Simply thaw and serve… et voilà!
“Following the introduction of Natasha’s Law, there is much more awareness around the issue of food allergies now,” added Marie-Emmanuelle Chessé. “Our Tipiak gluten-free French macarons and French pop macarons fruits help UK caterers to cater for the growing demand for these delightful desserts.”
